WHAT YOULL DO AS A TRAVEL CONTRACTED AGENT:

• Help your clients find the destinations, transportation and accommodation that are best suited to their needs and budgets, along with any other travel options theyll need along the way.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and suppliers.
• Manage travel reservations and other trip details.
• Strive to get the best possible value for your clients.
• Provide exceptional service aligned with AMAs service promise.
• Be there for your clients before, during & after their trip.
• Build your business through your own marketing activities - referrals, social media, friends and family, community events.

OUR PROCESS:Step 1 - Apply online to register your interest. We encourage you to include a cover letter and resume describing your interest in this career, your passion for any aspects of the home business model, and any relatable experience that will help you hit the ground running! Our host agency support team will review and contact you if you meet the requirements to schedule an introduction and explain more about our host agency model.Step 2 - Once you are successful going through our initial introduction and if there is interest on both sides to proceed, we will schedule a formal interview time and move to the next step.Step 3 - Following the successful completion of the formal job interview a criminal background check will be completed and provided that is successful you will move to the next step.Step 4 - AMA will review the training path with for the self-study training materials. This can take upwards of 4-12 weeks depending on your level of current experience as a travel agent.Step 5 - Well help you get started with setting up your small business. This is when youll need to get started with the following:

• Youll obtain the required Errors and Omissions insurance coverage for independent travel agents. AMA Travel will provide you with the contacts and the estimated cost is $700 per year.
• Youll obtain the required Alberta Insurance Council license to sell travel insurance in Alberta, to sell to Alberta residents. AMA Travel will provide you with the process and the estimated cost is $150 per year.
• Youll meet with your financial advisor/lawyer to determine the best small business set up for you or set up a small business through a registry (incorporation) at an estimated cost of $550.

Step 6 - Provide you with access and training on our internal systems and processes for you to book travel, build client files, review your sales reporting etc.SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS

• You have a high school diploma plus some post-secondary travel education would be an asset.
• Youre no newbie - youve already got some solid travel experience under your belt.
• You have a good understanding of technology systems such as Microsoft Office Suite and willing to learn to use many other technical systems.
• Youre totally up-to-speed on the latest international travel products, destinations and services.
• Youve got strong communications and sales skills, and a commitment to building your book of business.
