In the role of Transportation Planner 2, we'll count on you to:

  • Work as part of the Transportation Planning team under the direction of the Project Managers on a variety of transportation projects, including but not limited to Transportation Master Plan studies, Transit Plans and Business Cases, Active Transportation Studies, Freight and Passenger Rail Planning Studies, Complete Street Planning and Design, as well as potentially traffic studies.
  • Work individually as well as within a team structure, effectively communication and corresponding with the team and clients.
  • Undertake technical analysis to support a wide variety of transportation studies. Experience with design software, travel demand modelling software, and traffic analysis software considered a plus.
  • Perform other duties as needed including Mapping, data analytics, engagement, and drafting, using tools such as GIS Pro, PowerBI/Tableau, and AutoCAD or Autoturn are considered preferred assets.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree
EIT, P.Eng., or RPP eligibility in Alberta
Strong verbal communication and written skills
Ability to multitask while working on many projects at once
Skills and experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering (e.g. GIS Pro, Synchro/SimTraffic, Aimsun, Vissim, Emme)
Skills and experience in design software (i.e. AutoCAD , MicroStation Version 8, and other design packages).
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Planning or closely related field
  • A minimum of 5 years experience with transportation planning
  • MS Office, CAD, ArcInfo/ArcView
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
