As a Warehouse & Delivery Manager you will provide leadership and direction to the Fleet Supervisors, Admin./ Support team, Delivery Drivers and Helpers based at our Mississauga DC. You will be reporting to the Director of Distribution, Mississauga DC, Ontario
Responsibilities:
Ensure the highest standards of in-home delivery service are achieved on a consistent basis
Ensure consistency of compliance at a high level in both vehicle driving behaviours as well as all workplace health & safety standards
Recruit, hire and develop staff through training, goal-setting and conducting on-going coaching & performance management
Assist in the fleet & delivery department planning, including daily operations, to maximize resources and vehicle equipment utilization
Review daily scheduling, routing and load planning functions to maximize delivery capacity and productivity of available resources
Advise Stores & Regional management team of areas in which efficiencies may be improved and take initiative with appropriate action
Actively participate in property and product damage control processes and initiatives
Administer investigations pertaining to workplace injuries, vehicle accidents, property or product damages and load & delivery reports
Conduct both driver load-out and check-in processes on a consistent basis
Communicate with Regional management team on an on-going basis on any opportunities to improve or better support sales and business processes
Qualifications:
Working experience in an in-home delivery/ warehouse environment would be a desirable attribute, but is not absolutely necessary
Previous management/ supervisory experience in a retail, store or logistics environment involving people management would be an asset
Knowledge of retail delivery service procedures, Warehouse Management Systems and/ or Operations Management at The Brick would be an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem solving and decision making ability
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Ability to work a rotating flexible schedule that will have some weekend work times as well as early morning start times
