Transportation Coordinator

Our Transportation Coordinator is passionate about logistics and global transportation options. We're looking for a Transportation Coordinator (14-month term) to join our head office located in Vernon, British Columbia for a 14-month term. Our head office houses Tolko's corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in transportation and logistics is preferred.
• A diploma, degree, or designation in a related field of study or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Superior organizational, analytical, interpersonal, communication and time management skills are required.
• Innovative thinker and passion for problem solving.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced team environment while providing superior service to internal and external customers.
• Use of analytics to provide sound recommendations.
• Knowledge of the forestry and wood products industry would be considered an asset.

In this role, you will:

• Coordinate and manage the movement of several modes of transportation, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products.
• Act as a liaison between mills, shippers, sales teams, and reload locations to facilitate smooth operations.
• Monitor and optimize car supply, manage rates, and ensure compliance with contracts and regulations.
• Build alternative supply chain solutions that differentiate Tolko and yourself in the marketplace.
• Interface with external stakeholders, such as suppliers, carriers, customers, and regulatory agencies.
• Achieve specific budget targets and performance scorecard goals that are applicable to the strategic supply chain vision.
