We look forward to receiving your application and discussing specific compensation parameters as part of our hiring process.POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) team, the Transportation Compliance Advisor is responsible for four primary accountabilities: producing timely and accurate statistics and trends, maintaining driver files, mentoring drivers and supervision on transportation regulations, and for leading transportation safety program. This position must lead by example and foster MasTec Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Core Values. Additionally, the Transportation Compliance Advisor is expected to create and maintain positive and professional relationships, both internally and externally. Preference will be given to those candidates living in and around Acheson or Edmonton area. The position will be based in Acheson and the individual will be relied upon to have an occasional presence at MasTec\'s various sites and office locations.LOCATION: 25963 - 111 Ave, Acheson, AB T7X 6C8ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Update and maintain all elements of the Transportation Safety Program
Approve new driver requests, by reviewing driver abstracts and other information to determine if the requirements meet the Company\xe2\x80\x99s compliance standards
Manage and update active driver files
Coordinate driver training orientation programs including training for defensive driving
Coordinate NSC compliance training such as load securement, weights and dimensions, hours of service, trip inspections, logbooks, and TDG
Set up NSC drivers in the electronic driver log software (Titan), and train NSC drivers on use and expectations of the EDL tablets
Audit daily logs for compliance issues and advise management of any concerns
Produce and distribute a variety of monthly transportation safety reports
Work with MasTec Canada\xe2\x80\x99s safety advisors to conduct investigations, and determine causes of transportation-related accidents
Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations
Monitor, counsel, and document driver violations of any provincial, federal, or local laws or company policies or regulations
Monitor vehicle maintenance reporting expectations, and confirm maintenance requirements are followed up on when required
Provide insight as a subject matter expert with transportation regulations and overall recommendations to business processes for improvements
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 5 years of appropriate transportation safety experience
Experience working in a professional environment (ex. corporate office)
Strong knowledge of provincial and federal transportation regulations including hours of service, inspections, and transportation of dangerous goods is required
Certified Transportation Safety Professional considered an asset
Class 1 driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence considered an asset
Prior construction industry field experience is considered an asset
