:Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world.Wood is recruiting for an Intermediate/Senior Transmission Designer focusing on Transmission & Distribution, to join the New Brunswick team on an as needed basis. #LI-OnsiteThe RoleThis position is responsible for leading and supporting transmission electrical design projects, defining scopes of work, performing engineering calculations, and developing detailed design drawings. The designer will work on overhead and underground distribution projects from feasibility to construction and commissioning.Our Clients and ProjectsDesigning the future.   • Engineering of transmission electrical projects through the entire project lifecycle: from conceptual and feasibility, though detailed design, to construction and service
  • Leading or supporting overhead and underground transmission engineering projects defining scopes of work, completing cost estimates, performing engineering calculations, interconnection studies and developing detailed design drawings
  • Supporting the preparation of technical specifications, tender documents, and technical reports
  • Providing construction support and overall project engineering coordination
  • Responding to information requests during construction and completing project documentation including preparation of record drawings
  • Traveling and visiting project sites during design and construction

  • 20+ years of overhead and underground transmission design experience serving utilities in North America
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
  • Knowledge of local codes and standards
  • Experience with industrial, refinery, and utility facilities would be considered an asset
