Transloading Operator Dangerous Goods

Job Description

We are interested in candidates that can perform some or all of the following responsibilities and duties. We provide safety and skills specific training for all requirements with opportunities for advancement.



Operate a forklift and/or heavy equipment to load and unload a variety of inbound and outbound products.

Operate a transfer pump and / or mobile transloader to offload or transfer products from railcars to trucks or trucks to railcars.

Complete inbound and outbound tracking of inventory.

Complete inspection and cross-referencing of incoming inventory.

Label and organizing inventory.

Ensure all documentation for transportation is completed accurately.

Complete routine sample collection and preparation of products for lab testing.

Perform accurate physical inventory counts.

Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Complete routine daily inspections of operating equipment.

Complete basic maintenance requirements on operating equipment, ensuring equipment is maintained in a neat, orderly and safe condition.

Complete basic maintenance requirements within the yard and facility, ensuring the physical property is maintained in safe operating condition.

Occasionally work at elevated areas accessed by safety cage.

Perform some physical tasks as instructed by supervisor - could include snow removal, vegetation control, and track maintenance.

Operate basic hand tools.

Perform yard-switching of rolling stock.

Candidates will be required to complete and pass onsite job-specific orientation and safety training.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:



Safety conscious and safety aware - at all times.

Experience handling, managing, transporting or storing dangerous goods.

Comfortable working at heights of 4 meters.

Some work elements require physical strength, (ie: lifting/transporting hoses and couplers, making connections to outlet valves, etc.).

Excellent reliability, punctuality, and attendance.

Experience working in an industrial environment, warehouse, lumber yard, or rail yard.

Capable of receiving instruction and working independently.

Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Experience with heavy equipment operation considered an asset.

TDG, First aid, WHMIS, ERP, Fall Arrest, Air Brake qualifications considered an asset.

Hours:

Full time hours with opportunities for overtime. Hours of work could be days, evening, or weekends.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
