Transloading Assistant

The Role Responsible to ensure the timely recording, processing, and reconciliation of daily transloading transactions. Assist with daily transloading functions as required.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Inspection of outgoing trucks to comply with feed safety
  • Inspection and sampling of incoming ingredients to comply with feed safety
  • Adhere to and exceed all safety compliance regulations
  • Ensure unload schedule is maintained
  • Scaling and reconciliation of loaded/unloaded rail cars
  • Facilitate movement of rail cars on siding for unload
  • Scaling and recording outgoing trucks
  • Inspection of all newly-received railcars
  • Inspection and sampling of incoming ingredients
  • Accurate completion of all required transloading documentation
  • Understand and assist with car release process
  • Sampling of product in rail cars
  • Yard maintenance
  • Assist with equipment preventative maintenance
  • Backup for Plant Production
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Detail oriented; resourceful with good analytical capabilities
  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills

Qualifications include
  • Previous experience in an administrative or operational environment
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license
  • Rail safety, rail car mover, WHMIS, fall protection, working from heights, forklift and first aid training are all assets, training will be provided
