Your opportunity and responsibilities



As a translation and review expert, you'll apply your skills to a range of technical and creative documents in procurement, HR, IT, policy, finance and other fields. Among other activities, you will:

Translate and review texts for DCC service lines and business units Perform translation quality control to ensure concordance, accuracy, clarity, etc. Support development and maintenance of a comprehensive terminology management database Support development and implementation of innovative translation processes Stay up to date with DCC-related terminology Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal clients, external suppliers and networks

Your skills and experience



Minimum: university degree in translation or related field Experience: At least four years in editing, translation and use of translation software, preferably in an agency setting Professional working knowledge of:
o translation software and terminology management databases

o current translation trends and best practices

o project- and client-management best practices


As the successful candidate, you may fulfill your role in hybrid mode (2 days a week in the office) if you live in the National Capital Region. You may also work remotely in Canada (within easy commuting distance of a major centre or travel hub).

To begin a career with Defence Construction Canada (DCC), you must be a Canadian Citizen or a permanent resident of Canada. As a condition of employment with DCC, a minimum reliability security status clearance is required and some roles may require secret security status clearance.

DCC is responsible for the Personnel Security Clearance process. Typically to be eligible for a "Reliability" clearance, you must have five years of verifiable background information and to be eligible for a "Secret" clearance, you must have 10 years of verifiable background information. The process usually involves reference inquiries, verification of qualifications, criminal records checks, and credit checks (as required) and may require fingerprints. The appropriate security clearance is a condition of employment and it is the candidate's or employee's responsibility to ensure, they are able to obtain and maintain their required security level clearance to begin or continue their employment with DCC.
