Position Summary

Our Transfer Truck Driver delivers materials between all 10 of our locations on Vancouver Island. Based out of our Langford location and doing runs to Nanaimo, Cumberland, Comox, and Tofino. The shifts are Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3pm, and the wage range is $28 - $32 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

Complete pre-trip inspections. Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities. Transport loads in a professional manner following the rules of the road and representing the company to the highest standards. Superior customer service while driving and delivering materials and products. Mostly highway driving. Deliveries between Slegg locations, Sidney, Keating, Admirals, Langford and back (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri). Deliveries between Langford, Duncan, Nanaimo and back (Tues, Fri). Be a leader in all aspects of safety; loading, strapping, time management, and communication. Assures proper documentation accompanies all material being loaded onto or unloaded from the truck. Flexible work hours each day in order to complete necessary delivery orders. Loading trucks and unloading materials by hand as required. Practice and Promote workplace safety standards.

Skills and Qualifications

Valid Class 1 driver's license is mandatory. A minimum of two years of experience is an asset. Ability to be precise and accurate. Broad knowledge of building supplies and home improvement products is an asset. Competent with Microsoft Excel and Outlook. The ability to operate a forklift is an asset or training provided. Effective communication skills and ability to read and speak English.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Sitting and standing for long periods of time Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight
