Typical Duties and Responsibilities: o Conduct tours (other than technical tours) for school and the general public

• Manage switchboard, transfer calls and take messages o Conduct proactive patrols to ensure safety and address policy breaches, and note any concerns o Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner o De-escalate crisis situations, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including police, fire and paramedic resources

• Conduct vehicle and personal searches o Escort staff to restricted areas after hours o Write clear and detailed reports including incident, emergency, liability and day to day reports o Provide first aid and medical response when required to any person(s) o Utilize two-way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities o Handle Lost & Found items and inquires Job Requirements: o Currently hold a valid Alberta Security license, or have the ability to obtain one

• A valid Class 5 driver's license and a reliable vehicle are required o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal o Excellent customer service skills o Strong observational skills and attention to detail o Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimal supervision o Ability to walk 18/20km and stairs o Authorized to legally work in Canada
