Overview:
We are partnered with a local post-secondary institution who has recently migrated its HR and Finance operations to a cloud-based ERP platform. They are now moving into an exciting new phase of transforming its Student Information Systems (SIS) through a suite of solutions and seeking a Training Specialist to \xe2\x80\x9ctrain the Trainers\xe2\x80\x9d. Under the general guidance of the Manager, the Training Specialist plans, develops, and facilitates or delivers end user training on improved processes and supporting suite of solutions or technologies. The Training Specialist is responsible for performing training needs assessments, designing learning materials, evaluating, and for managing all phases of end user training. The Training Specialist is an integral member of the team and has a strategic perspective and a broad-based understanding of business operations whilst supporting the impacted stakeholders in understanding and adapting to new processes and solutions.

What you will be doing:

Plan and implement training modules and programs to ensure successful adoption of improved processes and supporting suite of solutions or technologies, by end users.

Develop end user training by analyzing training needs assessment, project requirements, target audience, and learner environment to develop and facilitate appropriate onsite and online instructional course outlines and learning objectives.

Identify training needs and training gaps as per project requirements and/or knowledge audits and assessments to identify knowledge gaps that require training.

Develop and oversee production of course materials, training storyboards, templates, job aids, webinars.

Leverage and build training in multiple formats including eModules, Webinars, Instructor Led, Job Aids, Social Learning and Peer Training.

Prepare and manage training delivery platform (e.g., Brightspace, SharePoint).

Promote the use of available learning systems and any other future learning system, including recommending and managing new learning systems.

Ensure smooth user experience by ensuring help text is clear and comprehensive.

Collaborate with operational leads and SMEs to develop and validate course contents.

Work with operational leads and key stakeholders to develop a training schedule, and new training strategies (e.g., Train the trainer, in person, online libraries etc.).

Deliver training to the applicable audience (teams and/or employees), using an array of respective coaching and training techniques.

Ensure successful execution of training programs and ongoing maintenance to keep content current throughout the life cycle of the project or technology.

Research, develop and deliver training frameworks and tools.

Provide expertise, coaching and guidance to operational leaders assigned to the projects and across the organization.

Assess training effectiveness via analytics collection, and implement improvements to training programs, including any procedural documents.

Coordinate scheduling, deadlines, milestones, logistics of training in collaboration with the team.

Participate in cross-functional project teams to assist in developing and delivering training, and to capture knowledge, and promote knowledge sharing and transfer across the department.

Develops and maintains a knowledge management framework.

Serves as point of contact for all training needs.

Perform other related duties/projects as assigned or requested.

What you must have:

Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in technology, education, communications, organizational development, or related field.

A minimum of 5 years of experience: in developing training materials and delivering training to business end users.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Solid understanding of training planning, development, and delivery frameworks. Proven knowledge and continuous learning of organizational development and training discipline and best practices and demonstrated contributions to practice improvement.

Knowledge of organizational training management principles, methodologies, and tools.

Experience facilitating diverse groups to achieve a desired outcome.

Experience in writing effective technical documentation.

Higher-education or public sector experience is an asset.

Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.

Ability to multi-task and deliver multiple assignments in a fast-paced, changing environment under tight deadlines.

Ability to work and communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to influence adoption of new technology or change.

Strong presentation skills.

Superior interpersonal skills. Proven ability to work effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals at all organizational levels.

Demonstrates the willingness, ability, and enthusiasm to learn new processes, methodologies, or technologies.

Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Effective organizational and time management skills in meeting deadlines and working with frequent interruptions.

Ability to produce and write technical and user support documentation and training materials.

Ability to make decisions in accordance to established policies, practices, and standards.
