Summary



We are seeking a dedicated Training Specialist to join our team in Stratford, Ontario. This role is pivotal in enhancing our workforce's skills and capabilities, aligning with our mission of quality and efficiency. The Training Specialist will play a crucial role in developing training programs that support our operational excellence.

The Training, Multi-Media, & Communication Specialist supports Team Member development, internal communications, and continuous improvement at FIO. This role leads training initiatives, develops multimedia content, manages documentation and translations, and promotes Kaizen activities and special events, ensuring effective communication and continuous learning across the organization.

Areas of Accountability:

Major Responsibilities:



Training & Development

1. Conduct new hire orientations as required, and revise training materials as needed.
2. Develop and conduct hands-on training (OJT and Monozukuri Center).
3. Build and maintain annual training plans and teaching materials.
4. Evaluate training effectiveness through audits and revise programs accordingly.
5. Support leadership development and career path training.
6. Maintain training KPIs and report outcomes.
7. Ensure SWC binders are up-to-date and accurate.
8. Upload and manage newly released documents.

Multi-Media & Communications

9. Record, edit, and produce videos for training, improvement, and promotional use.
10. Create 1-Point lessons, video OICs, and work instructions.
11. Maintain standards for labeling, postings, and visual communications.
12. Develop and manage an internal multi-media library (photos, videos, communications).
13. Support plant-wide communications and special events.
14. Support addition of new technologies to incorporate with training development (eg. VR).

Translation & Documentation

15. Translate internal documents (work instructions, training materials, etc) accurately and efficiently.
16. Confirm translation accuracy using internal/external resources.
Continuous Improvement & Kaizen
17. Evaluate standard work, tools, and equipment; recommend improvements.
18. Support and promote Kaizen activities and maintain 5S/TPM standards.
19. Participate in new program launches, capturing standard work and applying TPS methodology.

Social Media & Special Events

20. Capture and edit media for FIO/FNA social media activities.
21. Assist North American entities with media collection and editing.
22. Support and document internal events for sharing and archiving.

Other Duties:

23. Comply with EHS regulations and policies
24. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:



Grade 12 or equivalent; post-secondary education or certifications in training, communications, or media production preferred. Proven experience in classroom and on-the-job training. Strong understanding of multi-media production and editing tools. Ability to present complex information to diverse audiences. Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, video editing software, and translation applications. Ability to conduct cost-benefit analysis and calculate training ROI. Self-motivated, organized, and improvement oriented. Capable of travel within Canada and the US.

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
