Job Summary Statement:
The Training Manager liaises with management, Operations, the internal training team and external vendors to identify training needs, develop training materials and presentations, conduct or contract out training, and manage the rollout, tracking and effectiveness of training programs of Brimich associates and assists in both the administrative and operational responsibilities as and when required.
This position also requires the individual to work in a dynamic environment and exercise prompt decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Manages the onboarding and orientation process for direct hires and temporary talent; ensures appropriate content from different functions (e.g. Systems, HR, H&S, SQF, etc.) is presented in a consistent and efficient manner
Oversees initial on-the-job training of new hires, e.g. SOP and task training
Develops and oversees the rollout and management of the Supervisor Training program
Manages the MHE training program to ensure compliance, effectiveness and a stable pipeline of trained operators
Liaises with other functions (e.g. Operations, Systems, HR, H&S, SQF, etc.) to identify training opportunities and create content to address gaps
Performs other duties as required by management.
Health and Safety
Understands and works in compliance with the Environmental and Health/Safety management systems, policies, rules, and guidelines.
Understands and works in compliance with and observes standards for safe working conditions as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Takes every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker.
Performing regular workplace inspections, conducting/participating in safety talks,
Actively participates in accident/incident investigations
Identifying and correcting unsafe acts or conditions
Proper use and wear of personal protective equipment
Education and Training
5+ years of experience in training & development at a Supervisory level with experience in distribution, supply chain or manufacturing preferred.
Degree or diploma in training and development preferred
Job Specifications--Skills and Competencies:
Able to effectively lead a team, delegate, supervise functions, problem solve and keep associates motivated.
Must have strong oral, written and listening communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills and be a self-starter
A team player with strong interpersonal, and conciliation skills
Knowledge of safety standards
Experienced licensed lift truck driver.
Experience with a WMS
Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills
