Training & Development Assistant

Job Description

Hours of Work:

25 -30 hours per week - evenings and weekend availability - as determined by the needs of the program

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Community Education, the Development and Administration Assistant is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and upkeep of our Learning Management System (LMS) which we will be using to distribute information regarding gender-based violence to outside organizations.

This individual will work collaboratively with the other Community Programs staff and Director of Training and Development to contribute to a positive workplace culture. The role is responsible for ensuring that LMS works effectively and efficiently, and will work within the guidelines, policies, and mission of the agency. The role of the Training and Development assistant may vary based on the needs of the community and program growth and may also include specific projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:



Learning Management System (approx. 50%)



Implement, manage, and maintain the LMS to ensure accessibility and effectiveness

Upload, organize, and update training materials and course content related to gender-based violence

Support staff, partners, and external users in accessing and navigating the LMS

Troubleshoot technical issues and liaise with IT support or LMS vendors as needed

Collect and analyze LMS data to support program evaluation and reporting

Assist in creating and adapting multimedia content and training modules

Data and Reporting (approx. 25%)



Input and manage accurate program and participant data

Support Assistant Directors in gathering information for reports to funders, leadership, and community stakeholders

Monitor data quality and resolve inconsistencies

Administrative Support (approx. 25%)



Manage shared inboxes and phone calls, responding to or redirecting inquiries as appropriate

Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and document minutes

Support coordination of community programs, events, and training initiatives.

Provide general administrative support to Community Programs leadership

Qualifications:



Education & Experience:



Two-year post-secondary diploma in a related field and/or relevant work experience.

Demonstrated experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS)

Experience using

Canva

or similar digital design tools to create and adapt engaging training materials

Familiarity with gender-based violence issues and trauma-informed approaches is an asset

Skills & Competencies:



Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organizational and time-management abilities

Comfortable with data entry, analysis, and reporting

High level of computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, or similar tools

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Cultural awareness and commitment to anti-oppression, equity, and reconciliation

Flexibility to occasionally work outside regular office hours
