Located in the heart of Saskatoon, Epic Dance Complex has been nurturing young dancers since 2012. Under the direction of Desirae Graham (ARAD), we're a close-knit community dedicated to providing high-quality dance education in a safe, fun, and empowering environment. We believe in developing both our dancers AND our teachers, creating pathways for growth and success.

Position Details:



Role:

Ballet Teacher in Training (with Co-Teaching & Substitute Opportunities)

Location:

124 2nd Ave N, Suite 209, Saskatoon, SK

Schedule:

Monday evenings + substitute opportunities across all programs

Compensation:

$16.00 - $25.00 per hour based on experience

Hours:

1-5 hours per week initially, with growth potential

Training Program Structure:



Phase 1: Observation & Assistance (Months 1-2)



Shadow experienced instructors and learn our teaching methodology Assist with class management and individual student support Learn Studio Pro system and administrative procedures

Phase 2: Co-Teaching Development (Months 3-6)



Gradually take on portions of classes under supervision Develop lesson planning and choreography skills Receive regular feedback and coaching

Phase 3: Lead Teaching Preparation (Months 6+)



Take primary responsibility for classes with mentor support Prepare students for annual June recital Ready to lead your own ballet program

Key Responsibilities:



Co-teach ballet classes

focusing on RAD syllabus and creative ballet training

Support student development

by providing individualized feedback and encouragement

Learn comprehensive teaching skills

including lesson planning, classroom management, and parent communication

Substitute across programs

to gain experience with different ages and dance styles

Participate in studio events

including recitals, competitions, and special programs

Attend monthly team meetings

and professional development sessions

Ideal Candidate:



Essential Qualifications:



Strong ballet background and genuine passion for teaching young dancers Willingness to learn and commitment to professional growth Excellent communication skills with children and adults Reliable, professional, and eager to be part of our team long-term

Preferred Qualifications:



Previous dance teaching or childcare experience Familiarity with RAD or other ballet examination systems Interest in working with recreational and competitive students Flexibility to substitute across different dance styles
