Working closely with our editorial team in the Calgary Newsroom, the successful candidate will possess the ability to see the big picture and see how his/her contributions affect the entire editorial team. This multi-talented, focused and experienced individual will be responsible for:

  • Live traffic reporting on CTV ML.
  • Consulting with Producers, Anchors, Assignment Editor, and other Newsroom staff to provide creative input to the production of story items, as well as scripting and report assembly.
  • Segment producing for on-air broadcast.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Critical Qualifications
  • Post Secondary Education in Broadcasting, or Journalism.
  • Knowledge of television production procedures, terminology and equipment capabilities.
  • Previous experience reporting, anchoring, producing and writing for newscasts in a major market is a must.
  • A strong understanding of and commitment to reporting via social media.
  • Excellent organization, coordination, concentration and communication skills
  • Excellent time management, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated Ability to react quickly and productively in a changing environment requiring immediate decision-making.
  • Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
