Position Overview:
As a Traffic Control Person, you play an important role in ensuring traffic control management is completed according to applicable regulations, and to ensure everybody on or crossing a job site can do so safely.
What you will be responsible for:
Perform basic traffic control set-ups and tear downs while adhering to the MTO Book 7 requirements to ensure safety of all stakeholders impacted by the site (crew members, motorists, pedestrians, etc.).
Protect your peers, construction workers, the motoring public, cyclists, and pedestrians by regulating traffic flow.
Stop traffic whenever required by the progress of work or keep traffic moving at reduced speeds to avoid tie-ups and delays.
Maintain safety awareness at all times and work in compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and policies.

What we need from you:
Must be available to work Monday to Friday between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Must have a valid G Class driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
Must have ability to lift up to 60 pounds regularly, stand for extended periods, and work in various inclement weather conditions.
Must have strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Must have vision and hearing abilities that allow you to perform all work requirements safely.
Previous experience in flagging is an asset.
Must have your own CSA Grade 1 (green label) work boots with a minimum 6-inch cuff and electrical shock resistance (white label with omega symbol).
Must be able to calmly troubleshoot issues and collaborate with a diverse group of people.
Must have a smartphone and be comfortable using it for work purposes with ability to learn new systems/apps.
Must be comfortable working in a team environment.
Must be aware of surroundings at all times to monitor traffic, construction equipment, and workers for safety purposes.
