Traffic Control Person (TCP) - Ottawa, ON
Horizonor Inc. is seeking reliable and safety-focused Traffic Control Persons to support city-wide roadwork and infrastructure projects. As a TCP, you will play a key role in keeping motorists, pedestrians, and workers safe around active construction zones.
Responsibilities
Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely around construction sites.
Maintain clear communication with crews and equipment operators.
Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control signs, cones, and barricades.
Monitor work zones to ensure compliance with Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7.
Report incidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions immediately.
Assist with site access, equipment movement, and emergency routing as required.
Qualifications
Valid Traffic Control Person (TCP) Certificate (required).
WHMIS and Worker Health & Safety Awareness training.
Valid G-Class Driver's Licence (preferred, required to drive company vehicles).
Reliable, punctual, and able to follow safety procedures and instructions.
Physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
1-2 years of experience in road construction or flagging (preferred).
Must reside in Ottawa or within 40 km of the city.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
CSA-approved safety boots (required).
Hard hat, high-visibility vest, and safety goggles (provided if needed).

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
