Our lovely SE Calgary client is looking to fill the role of overnight Millwright / Tradesperson for their Calgary food production facility. This person will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing production and packaging machinery by interpreting drawings, performing layouts, and assembling parts.

This is working in a food production facility, working around nuts, dried fruits, etc. *Candidate must not have allergies to food products*

Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine control logic for machinery
  • Assemble, dismantle, and move machines and equipment
  • Troubleshooting stationary machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Inspect, clean, repair, lubricate, and maintain machinery and equipment
  • Assemble and install equipment such as conveyors, pumps, motors, load cells, etc.
  • Assemble machines; bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structure
  • Analyze and make recommendations with regards to machine operational efficiency
  • Troubleshoot and perform electrical repairs
  • Installing electrical
  • Provides operational training to machine operators
  • Operate and maintain hand/power tools
  • Complete Maintenance work orders
  • Work within approved preventative maintenance programs
  • Change over machines and set-up
  • Keeps and maintains maintenance log
  • Other duties as assigned
Education:
  • Journeyman or Red Seal trade certification and/or 5+ years of related training
Qualifications:
  • Possess a valid COVID vaccine passport
  • Complies with the company\'s Health & Safety policies and procedures including wearing of PPE, WHMIS, Lock-out, Compressed air, etc.
  • Knowledge of HACCP procedures
Experience:
  • 5+ years electrical and mechanical experience
  • 3+ years\' experience in multifaceted production environment dealing with high-speed machinery and a multicultural environment
  • Ideally experience with TIG Welding
Skills:
  • Dependable and follows instructions with ease
  • Takes initiative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Mathematical Skills - (ability to compute rate, ratio, percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs)
  • Strong computer skills
  • Independent and self-directing
  • Utmost respect and understanding of safety in the workplace
  • Adaptable and ability to pivot pace when needed
  • Excellent punctuality and responsibility
Base Salary:
  • $33 - 36 per hour
Work Hours:
  • Monday to Friday
  • 9:30pm - 6:00am
Additional Notes:
  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
