Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Trade Manager, Electrical.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Education:

• Experience:

• Experience leading a team of 5 \xe2\x80\x93 8 supervisors
• Experience in a unionized setting
• Experience in Manufacturing and/or Heavy Industry
• Shipbuilding experience would be an asset
• Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse workforce
• Excellent computer systems skills; MS Office
• Customer focused individual with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Energetic self-starter who enjoys working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

• Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical and managerial oversight by monitoring electrical production processes.
• Identify and evaluate shipyard production metrics (Norms) and contribute to developing technical solutions for production performance improvement.
• Constantly propose/request and allocate resources and materials to ensure optimal utilization in order to meet budget requirements.
• Develop and evaluate electrical supervisors and trades members, to ensure trade skill effectiveness and approved methods.
• Ensure compliance with all Company Environmental, Health and Safety policies and identify and suggest changes to promote safety awareness.
• Ensure strict adherence to Company standards and ensure the delivery of trade specific quality procedures and policies.
• Monitoring and performance managing the workforce/ trades members to ensure quality and productivity.
• Collaborate directly with Area Management to ensure alignment and that objectives are achieved efficiently
