ROLE:
The Track Maintainer role is responsible for repairing and maintaining track infrastructure at the direction of the Foreman and or Supervisor. This role requires to follow all safety procedures and policies set forth by the company and its customers. This is an outdoor position where work continues in all types of weather and environmental conditions.
DUTIES AND ABILITIES:
Maintain track infrastructure i.e rails, ties, switches, surface, ballast etc.
Operate and maintain various hand tools for assigned work
Remove and replace defective ties, rails, and other tram materials
Repair deviations in track surface, alignment, and gauge
Unload ballast and distribute track materials
Snow removal, vegetation removal, shoveling ballast and dirt, repetitive swinging, walking for long periods of time on uneven surfaces
Ensure a safe working environment while following the policies and procedures set forth by the company.
Maintain and protect company assets
Able to perform repetitive physical activity, lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
Available for shift work, with occasional overtime when necessary
Available for long periods of travel, including overnights
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Relevant work experience in similar working conditions
Must clear a Drug and Alcohol test
CROR Certification an asset
TIGs Certification an asset
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Valid driver's licence
Demonstrate good teamwork and maintain positive interactions with others
Displays common sense and good judgment
Hand-eye coordination
