The Town of Comfort Cove-Newstead is accepting resumes for the Town Clerk/Manager position. This role requires an individual who thrives in a fast-past environment and works independently with minimal supervision.
Duties
Provide direction via the municipal legislation & guidelines inclusive of financial and administrative best practices.
Process outgoing payments and ensure all payables procedures are executed in accordance with town policies and procedures.
Process accounts receivable invoices
Process weekly payroll, complete payroll remittances and complete annual T4s.
Receive and secure revenues / taxes collected and balance accounts regularly
Prepare bank deposits
Prepare bank reconciliations
Record meeting minutes for council meetings
Act as municipal officer during municipal elections
Update municipal assessment roll
Communicate with Municipal Assessment Agency regarding property assessments
Reconciliation of accounts and assisting with preparation of statements for external auditors
Perform collections of outstanding accounts
Other general office duties as required
Qualifications
Experience in a managerial or supervisory role, preferably in public administration or municipal management is an asset.
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly to diverse audiences.
Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Familiarity with cash handling practices is essential for managing departmental budgets effectively.
