Job Summary
The Tower Service Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of communications equipment on various tower sites. This includes climbing towers up to 500ft and installing associated hardware at height such as antennas, brackets, cabling, and connectors.
This is a multi-skilled position -- we are specifically looking for technicians who bring additional expertise in networking, structured cabling, and/or radio systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting wireless infrastructure, data communications, and telecom services across a range of environments.
Required Work Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in tower and/or telecommunications work
Installation and service of PTP and PTMP wireless systems
Installation and testing of structured cabling (Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6A, Fiber Optic)
Programming and diagnostics of radio communications systems
Proficient with test equipment such as multimeters, watt meters, antenna diagnostics tools, and DTF
Experience with tower climbing, rigging systems, and fall protection procedures
Ability to read and interpret telecommunication drawings and engineering documentation
Site surveys and tower inspections
Towing and deploying portable towers and trailers
Must Haves:
Safety First Mindset
Valid Alberta Class 5 Operator's License or equivalent
Recent 5-year Driver's Abstract (required upon hire as a condition of employment)
Aerial Work Platform and Fall Protection (OSSA accredited)
Tower Climbing and Rescue certificate (asset)
Confined Space Entry Training (asset)
Strong communication skills -- written and verbal
Ability to work safely at heights and in hazardous environments
Excellent customer service and client-facing skills
Experience with hand and power tools, testing equipment, and installation materials
Knowledge of telecom networking requirements and standards
Team player with strong problem-solving abilities

Physical Demands:
Frequent climbing of towers (up to 500ft)
Stooping, bending, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods
Carrying equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
Working at heights, including ladders, man lifts, and tower structures
Carrying tools and rigging while climbing
