Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tow Truck Operator to provide reliable and efficient vehicle recovery and transportation services. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, excellent driving skills, and exceptional customer service abilities. This role involves operating various tow trucks, including flatbeds, and ensuring the safe handling of vehicles under diverse conditions. The Tow Truck Operator plays a vital role in maintaining customer satisfaction while adhering to safety standards and operational procedures. We only require a class 5 license for this position.

Duties

Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized equipment, to recover and transport vehicles safely. Perform automotive diagnostics and basic automotive repairs as needed to assess vehicle condition before towing. Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches, ensuring secure handling. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients during vehicle recovery or drop-off. Manage conflict situations professionally, resolving issues with customers or other stakeholders calmly and efficiently. Conduct routine inspections of tow trucks and related equipment, performing minor mechanical maintenance when necessary. Follow all safety protocols during vehicle recovery operations to prevent accidents or injuries. Maintain accurate documentation of all towing activities, including vehicle details and service reports.

Experience

Prior experience operating tow trucks, flatbeds, or similar commercial vehicles is preferred but not required. Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair processes is advantageous. Experience with manual transmissions, automotive repair, or mechanic work is a plus. Proven ability to drive safely in various conditions, including urban traffic and highway environments. Familiarity with conflict management techniques to handle challenging customer interactions professionally. Certification or experience with forklift operation is beneficial but not required. This position requires a dedicated individual with strong driving skills, mechanical aptitude, and excellent customer service capabilities to ensure efficient vehicle recovery operations while maintaining safety standards at all times.
