Exceptional Tourism Ambassadors are the crucial front line of Stratford Tourism Alliance, and we are hiring an elite team of dedicated individuals to engage with our visitors in an outgoing and enthusiastic manner. Student will work full time - 35 hours per week including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Tourism Ambassadors will:
\xc2\xb7 Enthusiastically assist visitors with inquiries, helping to promote Stratford and area attractions, events, and businesses.
\xc2\xb7 Provide directions to local businesses, events, and attractions, assist with accommodation information and direct people to box office or online booking engines for booking theatre tickets, etc.
\xc2\xb7 Sell items such as culinary trails, Visit Stratford tote bags and Downtown Dollars gift certificates.
\xc2\xb7 Ensure Al Fresco areas are properly cleaned and sanitized.
\xc2\xb7 Possibly be involved in actively helping partner tourism-related events, festivals, and attractions to welcome visitors to Stratford. Potential examples include Stratford Summer Music, Stratford Perth Museum, Gallery Stratford, etc.
\xc2\xb7 Provide support by capturing imagery and content for use on digital channels.
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of Stratford and area.
\xc2\xb7 Take pride in maintaining inventories and ensuring a tidy and engaging welcome centre.
\xc2\xb7 Collect and input statistical information and update heritage, dining, accommodation etc. information on our website.
\xc2\xb7 Assist the Marketing team on Marketing initiatives and projects. Skills:
\xc2\xb7 Proficient in Microsoft Office/Internet research/social media.
\xc2\xb7 Excellent oral and written communication skills.
\xc2\xb7 Superior spelling and grammar.
\xc2\xb7 Outstanding interpersonal skills.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to work well independently.
\xc2\xb7 Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills.
\xc2\xb7 Secondary language(s) are an asset. Location: 47 Downie Street/Downtown Stratford and along the Avon River
Term: Approximately May 15, 2023 \xe2\x80\x93 September 1, 2023 (subject to change)
Requirements: This position is funded in part by the Summer Experience Program (SEP) grant through the Government of Ontario and is dependent on grant approval. To meet funding requirements, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria set by the Government of Ontario:
\xc2\xb7 All students must be currently enrolled in a secondary, or post secondary institution or within six months of graduation and have reached the age of 15 upon commencement of employment.
\xc2\xb7 Students must be employed by Stratford Tourism Alliance full time for a minimum contract length of 232 hours or 32 days at 7.25 hours per day.
\xc2\xb7 Proof of student enrolment must be provided to the employer.
\xc2\xb7 Students must be residents of Ontario during the period of employment.
\xc2\xb7 Students must be eligible to work in Canada and have a Social Insurance Number (SIN)
\xc2\xb7 Students should be living in Ontario at the time they start work. Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3.5 months Salary: $20.70 per hour Flexible Language Requirement:
