Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Operation manager or coordinator starting immediately full time in Ottawa. This is a 6-month contract with the strong possibility of turning into a permanent position based on performance. As the operation manager you will be responsible for

• The day-to-day operations of tours and rentals and ensuring that the business is running smoothly
• Providing outstanding hospitable experiences for the guests and walk-in customers
• Coordinate bike tour preparation and administration (greeting customers, bike fitting, signing waiver documents, processing payments)
• Coordinating staff and guiding schedules
• Train and supervise staff
• Operating POS system and customer checkout
• Process bike rental check-ins; fit customers to bikes and explain how their bikes work; Explain rules of the road and safe biking techniques
• Responding to customers\xe2\x80\x99 inquiries coming through the phone, email, and third-party partner
• Open and close the shop
• Overseeing the bike fleet maintenance;
• Keeping track of inventory and reservations
• Occasionally leading the tours if interested (training would be provided).
• Conduct sales and business development
• Assist with marketing, promotion, and social media

Requirements and qualifications

• At least 1 year of previous coordination or management experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and preferably French too
• Excellent people and relationship-building skills, team player with a positive attitude
• Planning, organizational, and tracking skills and attention to details
• Resourceful with an ability to multitask and coordinate multiple inquiries
• Previous sales/customer services experience and commitment to providing exceptional and high-quality service
• Previous hiring training and supervision of 2+ employees
• Availability to work a variety of shifts: (Weekends, Days)

Training will be provided to successful candidates. Availability and Schedule: Our busiest times are weekends and holidays including long weekends. You may be required to work a varying work schedule in order to meet the needs of the business. This could include working on weekends especially long weekends. You will have weekdays off in lieu of working weekends.
