Looking for part time work over the summer months?
Anchor Tours is looking for a few individuals to serve as tour guides for the upcoming 2026 tourism season, on a per need basis. If you're flexible in availability and looking for a way to earn some extra money, this might be for you.
Based out of Halifax, we have a number of positions available for driver/guides and walking tour guides. If you're able to do both, more opportunities will come your way.
Driver/guides will be required to have or willing to obtain, a valid Class 4 driver's license in Nova Scotia and provide a clean driver's abstract. For successful candidates, we're willing to train and assist in the licensing process.
Walking tour guides will need to be physically able to walk up to 2 hrs. at a time over terrain that can be variable in difficulty.
A successful candidate will be reliable, dependable, friendly, have an extroverted personality, entertaining, have excellent public speaking and time management skills, while showing attention to detail. Prospective tour guides must be interested in and willing to learn about Nova Scotia's history and its rich cultural diversity.
Prior guiding experience is preferential but not a requirement. Retired educators, those who have experience in the performing arts and entertainment industries, or people who have worked with the general public often excel as guides.
Remuneration will be a combination of an hourly rate plus gratuities. Details will be discussed with those who have been selected for interviews.
If you're interested in learning more about becoming a tour guide, we'd love to hear from you.
