Overall Responsibility:
Perform machining and in process inspection as required by engineering drawings and quality
requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordination, and work effectively with work-team members towards mechanical build, bench assembly, floor assembly and integration of robotic work cells.
Mmechanical assemblies of automation and robotics machinery in order to ensure that a quality machine is built safely in the required time.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, fit and assemble component parts and precision tooling with a quality and timely focus in order to build special-purpose machinery, robotic work cells and factory automation projects.
Assemble component parts and precision tooling with a quality and timely focus in order to build special-purpose machinery, robotic work cells and factory automation projects.
Fit and assemble or disassemble parts using hand tools.
Performing bench assembly, floor assembly and integration of robotic work cells.
Mechanical assembliesof factory automation products in order to ensure that a quality product is built on time, safely and to the budget.
Set up and operate various machine tools, such as manual lathes and mills, and apply knowledge of mechanisms, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures to support the assembly team with new work or rework.
Compute dimensions and tolerances and set up machine tools.
Understand and comply with the worker responsibilities and rights as outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OH&S) of Ontario, as well as, the Company's safety rules.
Proceed with floor assembly according to floor plan layout, assembling the job in a safe and proper order according to procedures, providing the other departments with the tooling needed to accomplish their tasks according to the schedule.
Communicate and be a channel of any constructive or objective ideas that arise, helping to keep the manufacturing standards up-to-date and at the highest level. Use the team as a pool of technical knowledge, solving problems together efficiently.
Test completed tools, dies, jigs or fixtures for proper operation.
Impress diagnose of trouble with part quality and or mechanical issues.
Make repairs/adjustments quickly and other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience as Tool Builder or General Machinist.
Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to deal with challenges involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability to walk, sit and stand for prolonged periods
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Applicant must have own tools
Education:
College graduation
Completion of a Certificate of Apprenticeship and Certification as Tool Builder, General Machinist or a related course .
