Job Summary:



We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced

Tooling Technician

to support the production of high-precision cutting dies and related tooling components. This role is essential in maintaining the accuracy, quality, and efficiency of our die-making operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with various materials, operating tooling equipment, and interpreting technical drawings to build and maintain tools used in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:



Fabricate, assemble, and repair precision cutting dies and tooling components used in production. Read and interpret CAD files, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate tool design and construction. Set up and operate a variety of tooling equipment, including grinders, presses, CNC machinery, and bending tools. Inspect and measure completed tools for accuracy using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision instruments. Maintain and troubleshoot existing dies and tooling to reduce downtime and improve product quality. Collaborate with engineers, production leads, and design teams to ensure tooling meets job specifications. Monitor material usage and inventory levels related to tooling components; communicate needs for replacements or improvements. Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area. Assist with the development of prototypes or special tooling for new projects as needed. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest process enhancements.

Required Qualifications:



High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in tool and die making preferred. 3+ years of experience in a tooling, die-making, or related manufacturing role. Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing materials (steel, composites, etc.). Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Ability to read and understand CAD drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Familiarity with die-cutting processes, knock-outs, stripping tools, and related tooling is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Good communication and teamwork skills. Experience in packaging, printing, or die-cutting industries. Familiarity with industry software (AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator for die lines, etc.). Knowledge of flatbed or rotary die manufacturing.
