Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Tooling & Equipment Coordinator.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. The Tooling and Equipment Administrator is a detail-oriented person responsible for monitoring and maintenance of Inventory Control Database, general reporting, and analytics for material inventories, monitor and support material procurement processes, process compliance and communications and miscellaneous task supporting daily operations supporting the tooling and equipment team.

This staff position is based at the Halifax Shipyard and reports to the Manager, Tooling & Equipment. This position supports the vision, initiatives, and strategy of Irving Shipbuilding, providing support to Production and operations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders supporting the objectives of our team.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Post secondary diploma in business administration, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of related work experience
  • Proven success working independently and as part of team to accomplish organizational goals.
  • Self-Starter driven to achieve milestones and goals.
  • Exceptional planning and time management skills to achieve objectives or complete projects.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple deadlines and deliverables, high attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; energetic and results-oriented; works well in a team environment.
  • Proficient to expert knowledge in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Access, and Adobe Acrobat, with a strong aptitude for learning new software.
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

Manage, monitoring and maintenance of Inventory Control Database
  • Assist material control specialist and supervisors updating and maintaining the inventory control database ensuring inventory accuracy and employee accessibility for all three ISI sites.
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Action identified gaps and opportunities to reduce waste and cost.
  • Lead and execute projects to support Tooling and equipment.
General reporting and analytics for material inventories
  • Development of reporting and analytics to illustrate trending analytics for tools and consumables and weekly supplier scorecards.
  • Reviewing and verifying accuracy of data and reports
  • Identify and executing action plans for improvements.
  • Department contact for interpretation of reports and answer stakeholders\xe2\x80\x99 enquiries or push back enforcing policy.
Monitor and support material procurement processes.
  • Support in the creation and maintaining for purchase orders and manage period invoicing for tooling and equipment team\xe2\x80\x99s vendor managed Inventor accounts.
  • Monitor and action overdue invoices providing direction to staff to aid in timely resolution.
  • Process compliance and communications.
  • Process Champion for BMM documentation carrying out process audits and leading change plan as required.
  • Prepare Department memo\xe2\x80\x99s and maintain teams\xe2\x80\x99 communication boards (Moxie)
  • Support Daily Operations
  • Coordinate logistic function supporting team to arrange for inventory movement between ISI sites as required supporting material control specialists.
  • Monitor and coordinate Small Tool Repair Process
  • General Administration tasks
