The position holder will play a key role in the development of Pomerleau by supporting the VP - Strategy and Corporate Development in executing their mandate. The Strategy and Corporate Development team works with senior leadership and other executives to identify Pomerleau's strategic priorities and ensure profitable growth. Specifically, the team is responsible for leading mergers and acquisitions activities, assessing market opportunities and threats, recommending and prioritizing strategic initiatives, and monitoring the execution of the company's strategic plan. Collaboration and communication with various stakeholders are essential to ensure the success of these initiatives and foster a team-oriented work environment. The position holder will work closely with leaders from various business divisions and corporate functions to support them in identifying, evaluating, and making decisions on diverse strategic opportunities.


What You Will Do





Support mergers and acquisitions activities, including strategic evaluation of targets, commercial due diligence (e.g., competitive landscape analysis), and post-merger/acquisition integration. Lead strategic opportunity analysis mandates by developing business plans and formulating recommendations to support executive decision-making Develop and present effective business cases to enable informed decision-making. Support the execution and monitoring of strategic initiatives. Ensure follow-up on the execution of the corporate strategic plan by collaborating with internal teams and external consultants in collecting, analyzing, and formulating recommendations for strategic initiatives. Conduct ongoing assessments of the industry and competitive landscape, identify key industry trends impacting the company, and identify associated growth opportunities. To engage and retain talent, mentor, coach, and develop team members by investing time and energy in talent management activities.

This role could be for you if you have





5 to 8 years of experience, including one or more years in a strategy consulting firm or within corporate strategy/development departments. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a relevant field. Master's degree or MBA - an asset. Strong experience in financial analysis to assess the potential profitability of investment opportunities (mergers/acquisitions). Ability to influence senior leadership. Ability to communicate clearly and accessibly at all organizational levels, adapting messaging and recommendations to the target audience. Strong business acumen and analytical skills to clearly identify key issues in complex problems. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal; in French and English). Proven ability to synthesize issues and recommendations into clear and concise messages. Demonstrates sound judgment, initiative, leadership, autonomy, versatility, and team spirit. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of the construction or engineering industry - an asset. Ability to travel nationally on occasion (approximately 5% of the time).
