Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our automotive service department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in automotive repair, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing a team of technicians, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the activities of service technicians in the shop. Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are performed to company standards. Conduct regular inspections of vehicles for safety and performance issues. Provide guidance on automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and repair procedures. Assist technicians with complex repairs and troubleshooting as needed. Maintain an organized shop environment, including the proper use of hand tools and power tools. Manage inventory levels for parts and supplies necessary for automotive service. Foster a positive work atmosphere that encourages teamwork and professional development. Handle customer inquiries and resolve any service-related issues effectively. Train new staff on shop procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.

Skills

Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of automotive repair processes. Extensive mechanic experience with proficiency in automotive diagnostics. Solid mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, alignments, tire services, and general repairs. Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in the automotive industry. Experience as a service technician with a focus on quality workmanship. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. Capability to perform heavy lifting as required in the shop environment. Sales experience is a plus for promoting services to customers. Commitment to maintaining safety standards within the shop.
