Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tile Setter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing a variety of tile surfaces across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces with precision and craftsmanship, ensuring high-quality results that meet project specifications and client expectations. Responsibilities

Measure, cut, and install tile for floors, walls, backsplashes, showers, and other surfaces using hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate placement and alignment of tiles. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying substrates such as mortar or adhesive to ensure proper adhesion. Use specialized tools like tile cutters, wet saws, trowels, spacers, and caulking guns to achieve precise installation. Perform surface preparation tasks including concrete forming, plastering, masonry work, or concrete finishing as needed. Conduct quality inspections throughout the installation process to ensure adherence to safety standards and project specifications. Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other tradespeople to coordinate work sequences effectively. Apply finishing techniques such as grout filling, sealing joints, trimming edges with trim carpentry skills, and cleaning finished surfaces for a polished look. Assist with restoration or remodeling projects by removing old tiles or damaged surfaces before new installation. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly. Utilize construction management software like Bluebeam for documentation and project tracking when necessary. Follow safety protocols on-site including proper handling of heavy equipment operation when required. Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered Prepare rough plans and sketches Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs Cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite Estimate costs and materials

Experience

3 years to less than 5 years

Proven experience as a Tile Setter or in related construction roles involving tile installation or surface finishing. Strong knowledge of construction management principles and estimating processes related to tile work projects. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings specific to tile installation projects. Hands-on experience with hand tools such as trowels, chisels, levels; power tools including wet saws and drills; and heavy equipment operation if applicable.
