Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tile surfaces in residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong understanding of flooring installation techniques, blueprint reading, and the use of hand tools. The Tile Setter will work closely with project managers and other trades to ensure high-quality workmanship and timely project completion.

Duties

Measure and prepare surfaces for tile installation according to specifications and blueprints Cut, shape, and lay tiles using hand tools and power tools with precision Ensure proper adhesion by applying appropriate mortar or adhesive materials Grout, caulk, and seal tiled surfaces to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal Read blueprints and technical drawings to determine layout and design requirements Collaborate with carpenters, masons, and other trades to coordinate project tasks Maintain a clean work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times Perform repairs or replacements of damaged tiles as needed Assist with other maintenance person tasks related to construction or renovation projects

Skills

Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, cutters, levels, and saws Experience in construction, especially flooring installation and tile laying Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately Strong carpentry skills for framing or related tasks when necessary Knowledge of caulking techniques for finishing surfaces Previous maintenance person experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility in various trades Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship standards Good physical stamina for lifting, bending, and working on knees for extended period Must have own tools and transportation

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $21.70-$40.00 per hour
