Requisition Number: 97089Tier I Support Technician - Summer StudentLocation: Toronto, ONAbout Insight:Insight Enterprise Inc serves clients in 190 countries, and in Canada, our robust Staffing department specializes in placing top-notch talent in sought-after roles across the nation.Description:Our client in the healthcare technology industry, in DT Toronto, is seeking a talented IT Summer Student to assist with Tier I Support for a 3-month contract employment opportunity. As a Tier I Support Technician, you will support end users with everyday hardware and software issues, fully on-site in downtown Toronto, Ontario. The ideal candidate will be a student currently enrolled in an IT program at a registered post-secondary institution and will be able to be onsite in Toronto for the duration of the contract.Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level end user support via phone, email, chat, ticketing systems, and deskside.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to Microsoft products, custom applications, telephony systems, and standard hardware such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and mice.
  • Deploy net new hardware and software as required.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved problems to the appropriate team.
  • Assist users with password reset and account recovery as needed.
  • Support users through any issues that may arise after routine maintenance and upgrades on hardware and software.
  • Document and maintain records of incidents, requests, solutions, and inventory.
  • Follow IT policies and procedures and adhere to best practices and standards.
  • Update/create documentation as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to users on how to use hardware and software systems effectively and securely.
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution, with an IT specialization.
  • Able to be onsite in Toronto, Ontario for the duration of the contract.
  • Experience working in ServiceNow or similar ITSM tool.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products, such as Windows, Office, Outlook, etc.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing standard hardware such as monitors, keyboards, mice, telephony, etc.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly.
