Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Thrift Store Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the store's operations while providing exceptional customer service. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. As a Thrift Store Associate, you will help create a welcoming atmosphere for customers while promoting the store's mission of sustainability and community support.

Duties

Assist customers with inquiries and provide excellent service throughout their shopping experience. Manage inventory by organizing merchandise, pricing items, and ensuring displays are attractive and well-stocked. Must be able to lift furniture and carry boxes and bags, etc. of donated products. Establish appropriate values for various types of donated products such as furniture, sporting equipment, power tools, etc. Process sales transactions accurately using the Point of Sale softare, including processing sales and returns. Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized store environment. Negotiate prices with customers when necessary, ensuring fair transactions while maximizing sales opportunities. Support store management in training new associates and fostering a positive team dynamic. Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure smooth operations. Participate in promotional activities and assist in sales management to achieve store goals.

Experience

Previous experience in Thrift Store retail or customer service is required. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage time effectively within a fast-paced environment. Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone. Proven organizational skills to maintain an orderly store layout and inventory system. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse groups of people. Experience in negotiating prices or managing sales is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
