This course will provide the student with an introduction to the field of Therapeutic Recreation.
More specifically, the course is designed to provide an introduction to the foundation, history, and development of the profession of Therapeutic Recreation. Students will be supported in their journey to understand the specialized area of expertise that makes Therapeutic Recreation unique among the health professions.
Position Requirements
A graduate degree (Ph.D. preferred) in an area appropriate for the course (i.e. Therapeutic Recreation or Recreational Therapy). Courses in the subject area at a graduate or undergraduate level are required. Demonstrated, relevant work experience in Therapeutic will be considered an asset. Preference will be given to those who possess the CTRS credential by the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation Certification.

The class is scheduled in-person, on campus, Tuesday, Thursday, 10:00am-11:15am.
