Third Cook

. This is a full-time position. Shift times may vary based on business volume.

The Role:

The successful candidate is a leader with a proven track record and a minimum three to five (3-5) years cooking experience with a focus on quality, emphasis on fresh food preparation, and innovative menu choices. Provides effective and proactive approach to banquet food preparation operations and delivery of standards through a training and mentorship approach with the culinary team, along with a team approach with culinary and banquet service departments. Experience with food handling, rotation, and storage of food products and supplies is required. Creative and consistent food preparation ability, and service orientated, combined with a strong guest experience approach and effective communication skills.

Post-secondary training at a recognized community college in culinary field and Safe Food Handler certification is required, as well as Interprovincial Status. Working knowledge of Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) is also required, and successful completion of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is considered an asset.

This is a scheduled position with salary in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Convention Centre Corporation and the Canadian Union of Public Employees - Local 500.
