Thermoforming Supervisor/Operator with Solid Surface and Plastic Sheet Experience

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Thermoforming Technician with expertise in solid surface materials such as Corian, as well as experience working with plastic sheets up to 12 mm thick. The ideal candidate will have operator experience on thermoforming equipment, and will be able to accurately manufacture both prototype and production line furniture pieces. Additional desirable skills include experience in CAD, CNC operation, 3D printing, and computer programming.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize your expertise in solid surface materials like Corian to create custom pieces of furniture, millwork, and other projects
• Program and operate our thermoforming machines to produce precise and high-quality pieces from solid surface materials and plastic sheets
• Operate and maintain thermoforming equipment to ensure production runs efficiently and with high quality
• Maintain and troubleshoot our thermoforming machinery and equipment, including the CNC machines, 3D printers, and other shop tools
• Utilize your expertise in CAD software to design and create technical drawings for custom pieces
• Utilize 3D printing technology to produce prototypes and models for custom pieces
• Collaborate with our craftsmen to ensure all projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards
• Help to maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the proper storage of materials and tools
• Assist in the finishing process, including sanding, staining, and finishing of completed projects
• Maintain an inventory of materials, tools, and supplies
• Communicate effectively with the team to ensure project goals and timelines are met
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies

Qualifications:

• Post secondary (college) certificate, diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience working with solid surface materials like Corian and/or plastic sheets up to 12 mm thick
• Operator experience on thermoforming equipment
• Desirable skills include CAD, CNC operation, 3D printing, and computer programming
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment
• Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in a woodworking shop
• Eligible to work in Canada (Citizen, PR, or Visa)
