Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking a motivated to join our team of scientists and engineers, and contribute meaningful, impactful solutions to our team.
As a Thermal Simulations Engineer, you will play a
pivotal role
in developing and validating our novel measurement hardware and informing the creation of new physics models, central to Forsta Varme's vision. You will work closely with engineering teams, physicists, and customers to design, run, and analyze simulations that inform product development, validate physical models, and support the integration of our proprietary technologies into real-world applications. Your work will contribute to both hardware and software development efforts, helping to improve simulation frameworks, generate high-quality data, and identify new opportunities for applying our technologies in industry.
Responsibilities:
Perform thermal simulations of materials and systems for development of new hardware and software applications, and to inform development of thermal physics models.
Develop and enhance simulation frameworks to improve commercial simulation tools.
Collaborate with Engineering and Physics teams to implement design improvements based on simulation results.
Validate models and ensure consistent correlation with physical test results.
Contribute to technical documentation, and patent filings where simulation findings support IP development.
Stay current with simulation software advancements, emerging thermal management methods, and industry best practices.
Requirements and qualifications:
BSc in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical), Applied Mathematics, or thermal sciences. MSc or PhD is a strong asset.
3+ years of hands-on experience in thermal simulation (CFD, FEA) and computer-aided engineering (CAE), ideally in R&D, aerospace, automotive, or materials science.
Proficiency with CAE simulation software (Ansys, COMSOL, or similar), with Ansys experience being highly preferred.
Demonstrated programming skills in Python. Experience with C/C++ is a significant asset.
Experience with OptiSLang or similar optimization/automation tools is desirable.
Experience with commercial software development is an asset.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, essential for a small, collaborative team.
In depth knowledge of simulation tools and strategies.
