MEDATech has developed a cutting-edge liquid-cooled electric vehicle drivetrain for heavy equipment applications, and we are seeking a Thermal Designer/Engineer to design and optimize the thermal management system for the batteries and power electronics. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop thermal management systems for batteries and power electronics in heavy equipment electric drivetrain applications
  • Optimize liquid cooling systems for improved efficiency, performance, and reliability
  • Develop and conduct thermal simulations, analyses, and tests to validate system performance
  • Create and validate thermal models using simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, FloTHERM) to ensure accurate predictions of thermal performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate thermal management systems with other subsystems within the electric drivetrain
  • Evaluate and select materials, components, and manufacturing processes to achieve optimal thermal performance and cost-effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to thermal management and safety
  • Prepare technical documentation, including system specifications, test plans, and design reports
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years? experience in a similar position
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a focus on thermal sciences
  • Strong knowledge of heat transfer principles, materials, and manufacturing processes related to thermal systems
  • Hands-on experience and willingness to be involved with assembly, testing and commissioning requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to travel throughout Canada, the United States, and internationally as required
