CASA Mental Health is an established non-profit organization delivering holistic, culturally-safe wrap-around mental health services to Albertans and their families. CASA provides mental health service to the missing middle \xe2\x80\x93 mental health treatment for diagnosed children and youth, in between prevention and promotion in primary and community care, and acute treatment in hospital.

CASA\xe2\x80\x99s team of mental health professionals are trauma experts committed to delivering service in collaboration with community partners. This includes assessment and treatment for up to 4,000 children, youth and their families each year, from community outreach settings to intensive treatment programs.

About the Role

Reporting to the clinical manager, the Therapy Support Navigator collaborates with all CASA programs and external partners to deliver an extension of mental health services and supports to children, adolescents, and their families, with mental health concerns. The Therapy Support Navigator will be an active member of a multidisciplinary team involved in triage, intake, assessment, case management, psycho-educational/treatments groups, outreach services, resource navigation, and transition services.

The Therapy Support Navigator will:

  • Actively engage in the triage process to determine the appropriate mental health services for patients and their families.
  • Assist Mental Health Therapists/physicians in screening and assessment interviews, in order to develop a treatment plan for mental health services.
  • Manage assigned caseload.
  • Provide hands-on modelling and coaching to family members, guided by the treatment plan.
  • Coordinate and facilitate psycho-educational/treatment groups for patients and their families.
  • Develop and maintain a list of community resources in order to refer patients and families for additional mental health support.

Minimum Salary: $32.76 per hour
Maximum Salary: $40.28 per hour
Hours per Shift: 7.25
Shifts per Week: Five
Days Off: Saturday and Sunday

Qualifications
  • Completion of any of the following:
  • Bachelor of social work
  • Bachelor of arts, majoring in psychology
  • Bachelor of education or bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related field.
  • Relevant and practical experience in a child and adolescent mental health treatment setting.
  • Valid Class 5 operator\xe2\x80\x99s license and access to transportation.
The successful Therapy Support Navigator will also possess the following experience, knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Adaptability and flexibility in fluid contexts and situations.
  • Strong knowledge and skill with behaviour management.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks appropriately.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Conditions of Employment
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
  • A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
