CBI Health is looking for a Therapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) to complement our talented interdisciplinary team. As a Therapy Assistant (OTA/PTA), you will:

• Create and/or contribute to excellence in the client and stakeholder experience
• Lead clients through individualized care plans \xe2\x80\x93 accurately assessing, communicating, and providing hands-on treatment to facilitate goal attainment for the client
• Provide written reports, as required, ensuring all documentation is aligned with College and CBI Health standards
• Contribute to the clinic team through collaboration, demonstrating passion for the work you do and using good judgement and integrity in decision-making
• Provide ongoing evaluation of client progress
• Engage in continuous learning and skills development.
• Support the therapists with ensuring that communication and instruction are provided and accessible to our partner

What you will need to be successful

• You possess a post-secondary diploma as an Occupational Therapy/ Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA Diploma)
• Be available for a Full Time opportunity (37.5 hours per week)
• You can assist/ teach exercise programs and train activities of daily living, including the use of assistive equipment
• You can provide gait and balance training
• You are knowledgeable in the use of therapeutic equipment
• Willing to assist/complete transfers, (may require 2 person technique with or without the use of a mechanical lift)
• You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel and comfortable learning new software
• Your focus is to embrace person and family-centered care
• You are passionate, empathetic, use good judgement and apply critical thinking when making client decisions
• You are known for your excellent communication skills and ability to work in collaboration within an interdisciplinary team as well as work independently
• You value the role a therapy assistant plays in keeping clients at home when that is of personal importance
• Your bilingual language skills in English and French are an asset
