Your Opportunity:As a member of the Recovery Alberta, Mental Health & Addiction, Adult Intensive Outreach team, you will have the ability to work both in the community as well as inpatient settings. This position primarily supports the Recreation Therapy program. The successful candidate will support several programs within the Outreach Services, including new collaborative programming with community partners to support traditional Indigenous teachings in support of clients' recovery journey. Responsibilities of this position include implementation of client centered treatment plans and therapy programs, in collaboration with other therapy assistants and multidisciplinary teams. Additional responsibilities include creating promotional materials for groups, communicating with community partners and assisting with group facilitation. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. By applying on this posting, if you are the successful candidate, you agree to and will become an employee of Recovery Alberta.Description:As a Therapy Assistant, you will work both individually and as part of an interprofessional team under the assignment, monitoring and evaluation of an audiologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, recreation therapist or speech-language pathologist. You will contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services including direct and indirect client care across the health care continuum (healthy living, getting better, living with illness and disability, end of life care) for all ages as well as non-client service provision. This role will require you to work effectively with internal and external partners, and display professionalism and strong ethics in both client centered care and participation in care teams. You will demonstrate evidence of reflective thinking and lifelong learning that enhances individual and team competency. You will have opportunities to use your interpersonal and clinical skills in contributing to quality improvement, program planning and student supervision.

Required Qualifications:Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered. Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to evaluate, provide feedback and outcomes. Deliver programming under the supervision of a Recreation Therapist. Able to work independently and within a team. Group facilitation experience. Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with Indigenous communities & understanding of Blackfoot language is an asset.
