Your Opportunity:This Therapy Assistant position with the Prehabilitation Coordination Team (PCT), reports directly to the Provincial Director of Collaborative Prehabilitation and Rehabilitation Patient Services. The interdisciplinary PCT Team is responsible for development and delivery of provincial, virtual Prehabilitation patient services. The mode of patient care service delivery is fully virtual. Prehabilitation (Prehab) helps patients to prepare their mind and body for surgery. The AHS Prehabilitation Program offers service options across four domains - Feeling Ready, Being Active, Eating Well, and Living Well. The PCT Team offers universal and targeted services for pre-surgical patients across Alberta. This position will work closely with the intake team as well as delivering patient services. In your role as TA, you will: Assist with triage, intake and follow-up for patients seeking Prehabilitation services. Assist in the co-design, creation, and delivery of virtual Prehabilitation interventions. Contribute to the recording, format and structure of the resources on e-platforms. Document and schedule in Connect Care. Demonstrate significant level of experience in virtual patient service delivery. Expert presentation and written acumen skill. Demonstrate expert technical and virtual service delivery skill. Clinical administration work.Description:As a Therapy Assistant, you will work both individually and as part of an interprofessional team under the assignment, monitoring and evaluation of an audiologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, recreation therapist or speech-language pathologist. You will contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services including direct and indirect client care across the health care continuum (healthy living, getting better, living with illness and disability, end of life care) for all ages as well as non-client service provision. This role will require you to work effectively with internal and external partners, and display professionalism and strong ethics in both client centered care and participation in care teams. You will demonstrate evidence of reflective thinking and lifelong learning that enhances individual and team competency. You will have opportunities to use your interpersonal and clinical skills in contributing to quality improvement, program planning and student supervision.

Required Qualifications:Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered. Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of experience in rehabilitation practice, including acute care, community rehabilitation and/or outpatient specialized service settings. Minimum of 2 years of experience with virtual patient care. Ability to tolerate high clinic volumes. Knowledge of patient population needs, health care continuum, and leading practices in collaborative, interdisciplinary rehabilitation. Knowledge of pre- and post-surgical care needs and practices. Strong interpersonal skills, including an ability to develop therapeutic relationships and navigate sensitive situations. Ability to create effective internal and external partnerships. Aptitude for performing in an environment of innovation, continuous change, and learning. Excellent clinical intervention skills. Initiative and ability to work independently in a virtual setting. Demonstrate significant level of experience in virtual patient service delivery. Expert presentation and written acumen skill. Demonstrate expert technical and virtual service delivery skill. Clinical administration work. Exceptional technical skills in managing computers and software, including Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite and other e-platforms and web-based tools. Technical aptitude is essential. Experience guiding patients to utilize virtual technologies.
