Quest Health Inc., services is seek a registered therapist to provides a wide range of therapeutic services, including individual, couple, some-child, youth, and family therapy. The Therapist will work from a trauma-informed and client-centred approach, supporting membership in addressing personal, relational, and family challenges. Our population spans from children, adolescents, and adults of varying ages and cultural backgrounds, and individuals with special needs and diagnosis. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to professional growth and ethical practice. This role entails providing therapeutic services and psychological assessments for a diverse clientele from both forensic and general clinical settings. Many have faced significant trauma, mental health challenges, and behavioral difficulties.
Key Responsibilities of the successful candidate
Provide counselling services to individuals, couples and families on a range of issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, grief, parenting challenges, and life transitions.
Conduct thorough assessments, identify client needs, establish therapeutic goals, and collaboratively develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Facilitate psycho-educational and therapeutic groups as required to address common client concerns and promote peer learning and support.
Offer crisis intervention and safety planning when necessary.
Advocate for clients by liaising with community resources, service providers, schools, and healthcare professionals.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical and administrative records in compliance with professional standards and agency policies.
Participate in regular clinical supervision, case consultations, and team meetings.
Contribute to program development by providing input on best practices, emerging client needs, and service delivery improvements.
Commit to ongoing professional development and training to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
Undertake any related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Training Experience
Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counselling Psychology, or a related field (M.C., M.A.C.P., M.A., MMFT, M.Ed.).
Must register with the College of Social work.
Minimum of 3 years' post-graduate counselling experience providing therapy to diverse populations.
Current registration and good standing with a recognized professional association/regulatory body (required).
Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed and evidence-based therapeutic practices.
Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, family systems, and community resources.
Strong understanding of Cree language.
Excellent skills in assessment, crisis intervention, case management, and client advocacy.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport with clients.
Experience working with culturally diverse communities, with sensitivity to Indigenous, newcomer, and marginalized populations.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also managing an independent caseload.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Skilled in diagnosing, crisis intervention techniques, and treatment of mental health and substance abuse disorders.
Ability to develop a therapeutic alliance with individuals and families
Skilled in assessing, identifying problem behaviors and treatment planning
Knowledge of human behaviour and complex behavioral problems.
Ability to handle stress and to stabilize crisis situations.
Ability to demonstrate cultural competency
Ability to follow complex oral and written communication.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, volunteers, medical and clinical professionals within the community.
Must be willing to travel to community
