Therapeutic Coach (rsw, Ssw, Cyc, Dsw)

Ancaster, ON, CA, Canada

Job Description

About The Role:

We are seeking a skilled, flexible therapeutic coach to join our colourful multi-disciplinary child & youth coaching team, supervised by our Social Workers. This role involves both hands-on frontline support in low ratio groups, collaborative team planning, and 1:1 coaching and intervention with children and teens (approximately 10-18yrs).

The day to day work blends teaching practical life skills with social, emotional and mental health support, targeted to each individual. We're looking for someone who LOVES hanging out with kids/teens and is equally comfortable helping set up google calendars, chunk out assignments and work on school-based executive function skills, figuring out how to make preferred recipes that meet kids' dietary needs in the kitchen, or heading out to a local farm, forest, store or event to practice distress tolerance, social negotiation, and problem solving! A passion for neurodivergence (ADHD, ASD, OCD, Anxiety, etc) is a must - this is our clinic lens and specialty.

This role is full time and in person, with a large component of in-home and in-community work, taking life skills on the road, helping youth make meaningful community connections and build their suite of skills. A big part of the role will be building care plans that are customized to the individual to help meet their overall goals - then implementing the plans together!

We're also open to regular part timers - but just to be clear, we're not fooling around - we're looking for a long term committed relationship.

About Us

We're a little bit ... different. NowWhat is a creative, supportive, and joyful working environment, in a beautiful clinic and a lovely community in downtown Ancaster. We are a nature-loving, out-of-the-box clinic that provides holistic and creative clinical, social, and educational support to children and youth across a range of domains, including ADHD & executive function, social communication, emotional regulation, anxiety, and behavioural challenges. We're truly collaborative - consulting regularly across disciplines to build effective support plans that consider the whole person and their family context. Each professional is valued for their expertise and contribution, and enjoys a balance of autonomy and team support.

We are committed to holding inclusive, affirming, and non-judgmental space for both staff and clients. We value radical honesty and epic bravery. We have a particular focus on removing the barriers that can hinder access to therapeutic services for neurodivergent folk, and our passion is helping people build the skills they need to act effectively so they can enjoy a rich and meaningful life - whatever that looks like for them.

We're also a social enterprise, dreamed up by parents who have crafted the supports they would have loved to have for their own families. We're driven by people before profits, looking for people whose values align with these goals, and who will contribute to our positive, affirming culture - for real, not just for show.

If you're our person, you're looking for a long term in-person position where you feel valued as a human, confident in your ability to contribute to a team, and challenged to grow and learn. You're patient and unshockable, and you're not afraid of rolling up your sleeves and getting dirty - you're up for some fun and games, messy crafts and outdoor adventures!

You truly enjoy kids and have a soft spot for those who struggle to interpret or follow social norms, or to communicate traditionally. You're quick to laugh and willing to work through conflict and challenges with humour and positivity. You're equally ready to try new things, and toss them out if they're not working. You can work to a deadline and pick up new processes quickly.
