About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Program Manager and working under the direction of the recreation therapist and/or regulated health care professional, The Therapeutic Assistant (TA) is a member of the collaborative health care team, providing support to patients, families and interprofessional team members through the incorporation of facilitation techniques, participation in leisure/recreation activities. The Therapeutic Assistant will work cooperatively and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary treatment team in carrying out the individual\'s treatment program and communicating patient-specific information that will enhance the level of knowledge of the treatment team. Under the direction of the recreation therapist and appropriate, involved members of the health care team, TA\'s support the patient\'s plan of care to maximize the patient\'s successful engagement, modeled within a recreation therapy framework.
