Summary

The Miller Concrete is looking for Sales and Operations Specialist for its Aurora Office, ON. The successful candidate will be managing an outcome focused business unit dedicated to increasing sales and market share and working with management to maximize profit margins. Directly responsible for optimal efficiency and effectiveness and reducing costs operationally while continuously developing solutions to differentiate the company as the supplier of choice.

As a Sales and Operations Specialist, You Will;

Sales, Marketing and Customer Relations (40% Time)

  • Oversee customers\' needs by developing and implementing timely business solutions with the support of a sales representative
  • Develop strong relationship with new and existing customers to support business growth both internally and externally
  • Increase sales volumes, by managing existing customers and acquiring new accounts to support business growth
  • Monitoring the market and keeping market intelligence information up to date
  • Timely communication and negotiation of price changes
Operations (25% Time)
  • Oversight of the daily relationship between the business and our customers
  • Determine customers\' needs and how operations will deliver on those needs
  • Maximizing profitability by working with Management, within logistics, operations, Cement Terminal Operations to deploy strategies to optimize sales, delivery analytics, efficiencies and manage market dynamics
Budgets and Monthly Sales & Operations Reporting (15% time)
  • Prepares and delivers a detailed annual sales budget with sound strategy/rationale, sales forecasting, utilization, and efficiencies of delivery costs to deliver services, etc
  • Accountability is clearly assigned throughout sales team (Manager and Sales Rep) & Terminal Operations
  • Builds effective monthly sales forecasts/reports for the management team
  • Prepare and provide forecasts for budget presentations, twice a year
  • Work closely with Logistics, Quality and Finance to drive and achieve annual sales and collections targets
  • Responsible for customer account aging and primary collection activities to minimize outstanding receivables
Risk Mitigation (10% of time)
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies to identify, monitor and evaluate risk and consequences inherent to meeting client demands such as scheduling and delivery timelines
  • Oversight of the operations and collaborate with the Logistics Team & Cement Terminal Operations to manage day-to-day schedules to mitigate risk associated with trucking, logistical issues, human resources, dispatch, and market dynamics
  • Work with Technical Support Group to provide customers support on technical issues and concerns
  • Have a good understanding of the market and external environmental challenges (shortages, logistics, etc.) to effectively support customer demands while maintaining our reputation and client relationships
Health & Safety (10% Time)
  • Demonstrates a commitment, in all aspects of Health & Safety
  • Promotes safety guidelines and standards to customers, and the business
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations
  • Development and deployment of safe operating procedures for the Business Unit
What You Will Bring;
  • Requires a Bachelor\'s degree in relatable field with at least 2-3 years of experience
  • Strong customer relationship with correct market prospecting approach
  • Excellent negotiation skills to demonstrate with strong written and verbal communication
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills; ability to work effectively under time constraints and deliver results by critical deadlines
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment.
